Similarity-Based Cross-Media Retrieval for Events
نویسندگان
چکیده
Our goal is to link social media content to contextually relevant information in complementary media in the domain of daily news. Web links from tweets with user-included URLs are transferred to URLless tweets, using manually annotated events. The new cross-media ties establish authoritative feedback documents for unsupported social media content, and enable extracting an improved set of event-denoting terms based on longest common subsequences between tweets and documents.

In recent years, the amount of multimedia data such as images, texts, and videos have been growing rapidly on the Internet. Motivated by such trends, this thesis is dedicated to exploiting hashing-based solutions to reveal multimedia data correlations and support intra-media and inter-media similarity search among huge volumes of multimedia data. We start by investigating a hashing-based soluti...
متن کاملEffective Heterogeneous Similarity Measure with Nearest Neighbors for Cross-Media Retrieval
Emerging multimedia content including images and texts are always jointly utilized to describe the same semantics. As a result, crossmedia retrieval becomes increasingly important, which is able to retrieve the results of the same semantics with the query but with different media types. In this paper, we propose a novel heterogeneous similarity measure with nearest neighbors (HSNN). Unlike trad...

متن کاملStudy of Cross-media Retrieval Technique Based on Ontology
With the recent advances in information retrieval, cross-media retrieval has been attracting lot of attention, but several issues remain problems such as constructing effective correlations, calculating similarity between different kinds of media objects. To gain better cross-media retrieval performance, it is crucial to mine the semantic correlations among the heterogeneous multimedia data. Th...
